How payment fees work
Escargo platform fee
5% of each successful payment on Escargo Pay, or 3% with an active Booking and Deposits entitlement. Deposits and balances are charged at the same rate independently.
Stripe processing
Stripe's card-processing cost is separate and passed through at Stripe's actual cost for each payment. It varies by card type, so we never promise one fixed rate — your statement always shows the real amount.
Tap to Pay included
Take contactless cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay on a compatible phone. Included in every plan — no terminal rental and no extra Escargo percentage. The same 5% or 3% fee applies.
No payment, no percentage — the fee only applies when you actually get paid.
Pricing questions
Are card payment fees included in the Escargo fee?
No — and we're upfront about that. Escargo charges its platform fee (5%, or 3% with Booking and Deposits), and Stripe charges its own processing cost separately at Stripe's actual rate for the card used. Your payment statement shows both amounts separately, so you always see exactly where every cent went.
Which plan is right for most garages?
Garage Complete — it covers the full daily workflow of a single-location garage, from bookings and deposits to clock-in, tips and payroll preparation, at the 3% payment fee.
Is there a contract or an annual price?
Plans are month to month. We don't offer annual pricing or free trials yet — if that changes, it will be published here first.
Does Tap to Pay cost extra?
No. Tap to Pay on a compatible phone is included in Escargo Pay and every paid plan, with no terminal rental and no additional Escargo percentage. Stripe's card-present processing cost applies separately, at Stripe's actual rate.
Do I need to pay to appear on Escargo?
No. When the public directory launches, a garage will be able to claim and manage a free profile. Paid placement, if offered, will always be clearly labelled Sponsored and never disguised as organic ranking.
