Use the full slip road to match motorway speed — joining slow is the classic novice error. Mirror-signal-blend into a real gap; nobody owes you one but most will make one. Exits: know your junction number, be in the left lane in good time, and never brake hard on the mainline for a missed exit — take the next one.

Drive in the leftmost free lane, overtake on the right, return left. Middle-lane hogging is an offence and a bottleneck. Check blind spots on every change — motorbikes live there.
The long-haul habits
Follow at two-plus seconds (more in rain), read far ahead for brake lights, and on smart stretches obey signs even when the reason is invisible.
